How we work:

After assessing your financial position, and establishing the capital available for investment, we will agree a risk assessment with you.

We can then offer a number of alternative solutions to meet your investment objectives.

Regular reviews are recommended to ensure that your investments continue to reflect your attitude to risk and objectives at each meeting.

All fees are explained and agreed at the initial consultation, and before any commitment is made. The fees can be deducted from the investment where appropriate or paid directly.

The value of your investment can go down as well as up and you may get back less than you have invested.

Retirement Planning

How we work:

We can assist you in calculating your future retirement income needs, incorporating all existing pensions and any other non-pension investments.

After a risk assessment, we will review any existing pensions and investments to ensure that they are suitable to meet your longer retirement goals and if appropriate, offer alternative solutions.

How we work:

We collate information on all existing pensions, and assess your health and life style, as this may increase your pension income.

We will prepare a report explaining all options that are available so that you can choose those that are most appropriate for your needs.

If a lifetime annuity is not required, then regular reviews are recommended throughout your retirement to make sure your income can be maintained.

Please note that you are not required to take your pension with your existing pension companies, and by law the ‘Open Market Option’ must be made available to you.

Inheritance Tax Planning

How we work:

We will undertake a comprehensive review of your financial situation including any existing wills and trusts.

We will then provide a written report to yourself and any other professional adviser you specify with recommendations to mitigate IHT liabilities on your estate.

The Financial Conduct Authority does not regulate taxation and trust advice.

There are currently a number of schemes that can address IHT issues that allow you to retain your capital without making gifts or involving setting up of trusts.

Protection Insurance

This includes:
  • Protection of income in the event of you not working
  • Protection of income/capital for your dependants in the event of your death
  • Private medical insurance for you and your family
  • Critical illness income/capital cover for you
How we work:
  • We establish your current state of health and your financial needs
  • We will assess any existing protection insurance you hold to ensure it is still appropriate
  • We can then arrange any additional cover on competitive terms from the whole market place

(Suitable trust wordings will be provided where appropriate).

No fees are charged for arranging the insurance as commission will be paid by the new insurance company. We reserve the right to charge a fee for the setting up of the trust, but in most cases the commission will cover these additional costs.
